My fav cookbook actually is my own….I have a beautiful 3 ring binder divided accordingly…..I get my recipes off dif internet sites…I try if i like it it goes in my cookbook. Course most of them are Chef Michael’s lol but I even have a spot for friends we love to exchange recipes
The Joy of Cooking was my standby cookbook. I’ve worn it out now though – no front cover and I’ve lost most of the index lol Guess that will be my request for my Mother’s Day gift – oh wait – I was going to ask for Chef Michael’s book …. hmmm what to do what to do??
Still, you’re right, it IS a classic, erg THE classic. I rely on it heavily. I have a few that I just don’t think I could do without, but it’s that one I come back to time and time again.
I couldn’t agree more Chef Michael! I’m on my second copy of that great book. My wife says she doesn’t have to read the page I’ve turned to to see what I’m cooking – she can tell by the color of the sauce stains on the pages! :-)
It really is the best way to learn all of the techniques required to become a proficient home cook. Along with your shows of course…
Love this website and am a big fan of Chef Abroad and Chef at Home.
Love to watch your show with my daughter and granddaughter every morning before work , school etc. Have tried some of your recipes over the years, used to watch the show you has on tv from your restaurant and loved that one too.
Your cookbooks are my go to books, they are like the cooking bible in my home! I have made many of your recipes for my family and they have enjoyed eating every one of them and much as I enjoyed making them!
I had to laugh at this one having recently viewed the movie Julie and Julia. But I do have an old version which I keep at my cottage because I do not have a computer there!! My favourite resource is your website and often just google a recipe if I need one.

Love the Joy of Cooking! Mine was handed down to me by my grand-ma :)
